The common toad is a protected species, and the city needs volunteers to secure its migration.
This is the second year that this operation to protect the common toads of Isola has been organized. With a scientific aim, this action takes place between March and June 2020. Additional data will be collected to establish a “toad tunnel,” an underpass under the RM2205 road.
Volunteers will conduct daily morning visits to the buckets (approximately one hour between 8:30-9:30 AM) and will release individuals into the wild to continue their migration.
An informational meeting for more details is organized on Monday, February 24 at 6:30 PM at AquaVallée in Isola Village. You can register by email or phone:

Last year, a “toad fence” was set up thanks to about twenty volunteers. The volunteers collected many toads, which were released at Lac des Neiges or in the forest.
