The union against antisemitic escalation to say: that’s enough!

Latest News

In politics, according to the well-known saying, unity is strength and leads to action. On a subject such as the fight against anti-Semitism, it should be a given.

After the recent outbursts of hatred on the fringes of the Yellow Vests protests, it is crucial for political parties to come together and say: Enough is enough!

This Tuesday, more than a thousand people participated in the gathering at Place Garibaldi, organized at the initiative of the first secretary of PS06, Xavier Garcia, and nearly all parties (except for the National Rally, which was not invited) were represented to denounce the surge in anti-Semitic acts.

In the meantime, it would be beneficial for such a grave issue to ensure that this unity extends beyond a symbolic gathering.

Following Saïd Assous, honorary president of the Jewish Social Fund of Nice, son of Auschwitz deportees, whose foreboding words recalled history (“we know how it ends”), Christian Estrosi, speaking as the mayor of the city (and not as a “political leader”—as he insisted on specifying), explicitly expressed this wish: “Let us wish that we will be increasingly numerous, united to push back what is a disgrace in our country, to reject the anti-Semitism that tarnishes the values of the Republic and sullies France.”
