Travelers can now purchase their tickets for trains operated by Transdev on the Marseille-Toulon-Nice line. The Southern Region, in collaboration with its new railway operator, is preparing for the arrival of this service, scheduled for June 29, 2025.
Opening up to competition in regional rail transport is taking another step. From June 30, Transdev will operate trains on the Marseille-Toulon-Nice axis. Tickets are on sale today on the Zou! website. A departure is scheduled every 60 minutes, with 16 daily round trips.
The team training is progressing. More than 200 agents are undergoing training in fields related to driving, customer relations, management, and maintenance. More than 70% of the workforce has already been recruited. Jean-Pierre Serrus, Vice-President of the Region in charge of transport, observed the progress of the project during a progress check with the Transdev Rail Sud Intermétropoles teams.
Five years of work
“Today, we are taking a decisive step towards the launch of the new metropolitan line. Team training is essential to ensure a reliable and efficient rail link,” emphasized Renaud Muselier, President of the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur Region.
This transition is part of a large-scale project. For the past five years, the Region has been preparing this opening. Last September, a real-condition rehearsal was conducted to test the system. Since December 15, SNCF Voyageurs Sud Azur has been operational. To modernize the network and improve the service, the Region is investing 1.5 billion euros.
Travelers will be able to take these new trains at the stations of Nice Ville, Nice Saint-Augustin, Antibes, Cannes, Saint-Raphaël Valescure, Les Arcs Draguignan, Carnoules, Toulon, and Marseille. With this new organization, the goal is to improve the transport offer and better meet the needs of the region’s inhabitants. Tickets are available on the Southern Region’s website.
