Since December 8, 2021, the Uber app for ordering a private hire vehicle has launched its “Uber Pet” option to allow passengers to bring their pet along. This option is currently available in Paris and Nice.
One in two households owns a pet, with 15 million cats and nearly eight million dogs in France.
Thanks to the new service offered by the Uber app, you can now take your four-legged friend with you everywhere you go. Indeed, more and more passengers felt the need to travel with their pets.
It is now possible to bring your pet along on your Uber ride, for an additional fee of €4. The feature is offered directly within the app.
As for drivers, the service is offered on a voluntary basis. Drivers decide themselves whether they are willing to offer this service.
Customers are advised to keep their pets in a cage or on a leash, and to not hesitate to bring a blanket or towel to cover the seat “to reduce the risk of damage or deterioration.”
