After months of stability, the number of category A job seekers (without activity) rose by 1.7% in April, with an additional 65,600 registrants, bringing the total to 3.863 million, according to figures from the Ministry of Labor published this Thursday.
This is the largest increase observed since April 2020.
These monthly statistics are published without commentary on the Dares website, which has decided to return to an analysis of quarterly trends—less volatile—like before the Covid-19 health crisis.
The latest quarterly results published at the end of April reported a slight decrease in unemployment in the first quarter (-0.4%), with an annual increase remaining at 6.3%.
