The department has launched InfoEau06, an interactive map to centralize and share data on aquatic environments.
The Alpes-Maritimes department is equipped with a unique tool in France: the InfoEau06 platform. Accessible from November 29, 2024, this portal aims to monitor in real-time the state of water resources and aquatic environments in the region. Developed by the SMIAGE (Mixed Syndicate for Floods, Development, and Water Management), this project is part of the actions of the Departmental Water Observatory, created in 2022.
“This portal marks a further step in the strong and comprehensive commitment of the Department to water resource management,” declared Charles Ange Ginésy, president of the Department and the SMIAGE.
InfoEau06 addresses the challenges set during the Water Conferences. It offers a public view and reserved access for technical partners, secured by a specific connection. This dual access allows for the consultation of simplified data for the general public and more detailed parameters for professionals.
A Centralized and Collaborative Database
InfoEau06 gathers information from various partner networks, such as the French Office for Biodiversity (OFB), Météo-France, EDF, and the DREAL. Among the covered topics are groundwater, rivers, water quality, drought, and rainfall.
The software, compatible with various measurement equipment, ensures reliable and qualified data. “This work, the result of collaboration between our teams and our partners, illustrates the link between the pillars of our SMART Deal and GREEN Deal policies,” added Charles Ange Ginésy.
For the public, the platform allows simplified real-time data consultation. Technical partners benefit from a detailed history and an enriched documentary base. All can also access specific news on water management.
With this project, the Alpes-Maritimes department aims to raise greater awareness of climate challenges and the preservation of natural resources.
