Friday, March 7
Debate: as part of the week for women’s rights, a discussion with inspiring figures will take place this Friday at 6 PM at the city hall. Christian Estrosi, the mayor of Nice, is expected to participate in this meeting alongside the academic researcher Pinar Selek. The aim is to highlight the journeys of committed women and men while debating the persistent barriers to equality.
Conference: the 10th edition of Neuroplanète begins this Friday. This year, it is organized by Le Point in partnership with the Nice Côte d’Azur Metropolis. A free event open to all that brings together prestigious neuroscientists and renowned practitioners to deepen our understanding of the role and functioning of our senses. Theater: until Saturday, the play Taire will be performed in the kitchen hall of TNN. A theatrical work exploring the myth of Antigone in a new creation by Tamara Al Saadi. On stage, the bodies and voices of 12 performers, supported by an intense sound and musical universe, unite in a common breath. Be aware that there are very few seats left.
Saturday, March 8
Show: the trial of great characters returns this Saturday with a session dedicated to the character Medea from Greek mythology. This trial will be performed by Élise Clary, accompanied by a lawyer and Hervé Van der Meulen. A plea to be seen at the forecourt of the Franciscans hall.
Consumption: as part of the Saturdays of the Second Life of Objects, once a month, the Maison de l’Environnement organizes a Gratiféria. A free market where anyone can bring clean and good condition clothes and accessories and take what they need without systematic reciprocity. This Saturday, the focus will be on women’s accessories in celebration of International Women’s Day. Meet at the Promenade du Paillon from 9 AM to 12 PM.
Flamenco: as part of the Femmes en Scène Festival, the group Kaena Colora offers a show blending music, dance, and vibrant stories inspired by emblematic female figures. An immersion into the Andalusian mountains with a Flamenco show paying tribute to women who have left their mark on history with their fight for freedom and equality. The performance will take place at Espace Magnan at 8 PM.
Exhibition: the festival Mars aux Musées embraces the theme “Atlantis” for its 24th edition. It will take place from March 8 to 30, 2025. Its programming, curated by students from the Event, Mediation, and Cultural Engineering (EMIC) master’s program at Université Côte d’Azur, will offer a new perspective on five museums in the city of Nice, which will become venues for varied, bold, and innovative cultural events. Participating are the Nice-Cimiez Archaeology Museum, on Saturday from 4 PM to 9:30 PM for a dive into the myth of Atlantis, and the Terra Amata Prehistoric Museum, on Sunday from 2 PM to 5 PM, to explore the first steps of a god in an unknown land, Poseidon.
Sunday, March 9
Football: the 25th day of the league will see OGC Nice face Olympique Lyonnais at the Allianz Riviera. A top-table clash between the 3rd (Nice) and the 6th (Lyon) promises an intense match. Kickoff at 8:45 PM.
Show: at 3 PM, the city of Nice invites local seniors to a musical afternoon with “MANIA, The Abba Tribute.” A concert free for holders of the Nice Côte d’Azur Métropole Senior Plus card, to be held at the Palais Nikaïa. Fans of the Swedish band from the 70s will relive the festive world of ABBA on stage. “MANIA, The Abba Tribute” revisits the great hits of the quartet, from “Dancing Queen” to “Waterloo.” Sparkling costumes, light shows, and rhythmic choreography will keep the show lively.
