Engine noises. Eyes fixed on the sky. The fighter jets made a majestic entrance into the Nice sky. Small and majestic, rolling and swirling, the aerial acrobats had prepared a little private “show” that did not fail to amaze the especially interested ones: the children.
The smell of rubber and kerosene, roaring engines, the tricolored jets landed on the tarmac of Nice airport.
As planned, the elite pilots, dressed all in blue, went to meet the young children of the Nice Municipal Council. Among them, Commander Virginie Guyot, the first female pilot to join the patrol.
This encounter was an intense moment where the lively and curious youth bombarded the pilots with questions. The recurring question being always the same: “How do you become a pilot?” Is the legacy already assured?
A presentation of a much larger and still impressive aircraft also took place: the accompanying Transall. The children were surprised when they had the opportunity to board the craft and learn a little more about the military world.
The morning concluded, of course, with the essential autograph session, a precious memory for these young council members who will not soon forget their day with the Patrouille de France.
In the afternoon, precisely at 4:30 PM, the Patrouille’s training flight took place over the Baie des Anges. Maybe you had the chance to see it or hear it. The Promenade des Anglais was filled with passersby, who, with their heads turned skyward, admired the spinning aircraft. Like birds, they evolved in various formations, drawing the tricolor flag in the sky.
Applause and smiles on the faces of the spectators, as always the Alphajets of the Patrouille de France were unanimously appreciated. The official demonstration by the patrol, which will take place on Monday, already promises to be spectacular.
